Transportation

What transportation services are offered for recipients who qualify for Medicaid?

The Non-Emergency (NET) Transportation Program provides rides to and from medical appointments.

Who is eligible to receive NET?

A Williams County Resident who is a qualified Medicaid recipient in the requested month of transportation services.

How does the program work?

When a request is received from a recipient in need of medical transportation. WCDJFS opens a NET with K & P transportation. WCDJFS does not have the option of attendants available through our NET program. If a consumer needs an attendant to be safely transported, customers are encouraged to request a passenger to ride along, or the consumer will be referred to ambulette transportation services.

Clients who will be using transportation services are determined to be eligible by WCDJFS Transportation Coordinator.

What types of appointments can I get transportation assistance for?

Medicaid covered appointments ONLY

Transportation can be out of Williams County, if the medical facility accepts Medicaid.

How do I request transportation services?

Request by email

NET services are available at WCDJFS during regular business hours of Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. A consumer may leave a message after hours regarding the need of transportation. Contact will be made with the consumer the next workday to verify the transportation needs and arrange the transportation.

Requests for transportation must be made at least (5) business days prior to the scheduled appointment. If the Medicaid provider schedules a medically necessary appointment or the recipient is ill or injured and requires the Medicaid services before the 5 business days, an exception will be taken into consideration. If there is a medically necessary appointment scheduled short of the 5-day notice, you will need to contact us before 2:00 the previous business day.
